Years ago, when I moved to Los Angeles from Berlin after a BFA in photography, I fell in love. This city is full of images- stories that constantly unfold, exquisite and ephemeral. A little girl dancing in the summer heat while spraying water over herself, a young couple kissing underneath a bridge, stuff like this makes my heart sing!
I have been an editorial photographer for 13 something years now, shooting lots of portraits (mostly of artists and musicians) and fashion editorials for a variety of international magazines. As if this was not exciting enough, you might say!
What I love about shooting weddings is how close I get to my clients, as a photographer I literally become part of their life, initially just for a short time, but they will always remember me as the person who shot their wedding. Somehow I usually wind up becoming friends with my clients in the process and I couldn’t be more grateful and happy as this is definitely enriching my life!
I tend to shoot with an album in mind, yup, I ‘m pretty much hardwired to do so after all these years of working for magazines! I literally think in layouts! I love love love how creative I can get with weddings, it’s a whole new spectrum of possibilities!
In my opinion life is much stranger and more beautiful than fiction- I’m always blown away by people’s stories- I can’t wait to tell yours!
